Do you just want a break from the winter doldrums?

 

Do you want to have some fun with your horse?

 

All classes will be pay back classes.  First place - $6.00; Second place - $5.00; Third place - $4.00; Fourth place - $3.00; Fifth place-  $2.00; Sixth place - $1.00.

 

Casual attire allowed.  This show is for fun and to help Northern Illinois Helping Hands Food Pantry, Spring Grove , IL.

 

Office fee will be one box of cereal – 10 ozs. or larger.  All cereal collected will be delivered to Northern Illinois Helping Hands Food Pantry in Spring Grove, IL.  Cash donations will also be accepted and given to the pantry.

Want to participate in a team class, but don’t have a team mate?  We’ll find you one, if at all possible.  And then you might make a new friend J.

 

No fee for trailering in.

 

Beverages will be available in the Ranch clubroom.  Bring your own lunch.  Microwave available.  Heated viewing/lunch room available.

No alcohol – No dogs – No stallions                                               Beverages available in Ranch clubroom.

EQ/Horsemanship classes will be pattern classes                          Payback 1st – 6th places

 

Ringermaster has right to cancel any class with less than 3 riders

or team classes with less than two teams or if show is running too late.

Classes 1 & 2 – Simon Says (riders under seven may be on lead line) Ringmaster will call out various commands.  Riders will be eliminated when following a command not preceded by “Simon Says”

 

Classes 3-5 – Around the World – (riders under seven may be on lead line) Riders will do a 360° turn in saddle and then trot across finish line.  Each rider will need a holder until 360° turn has been completed.

 

Classes 6 & 7 – Walk/trot race – riders will walk to changeover line, turn and trot back across finish line.

 

Classes 8 & 9 – Walk/trot/canter race – riders will walk to changeover line, turn trot back to start line, turn canter back across finish line.

 

Classes 10 & 11 – Musical Ribbons – played like musical chairs, but with ribbons handing on arena walls.

 

Classses 13 & 14 – Dizzy Cowboy (timed class) – (riders under 7 may be on lead line for riding part of class) riders will ride down to baseball bat, dismount, put forehead on bat and circle the bat three times, then lead their mount back over the finish line. 

 

Classes 15 & 16 – Ribbon Race (teams of 2) – pairs will be given a 3 foot length of ribbon that each rider will hold one end of.  Ringmaster will call out various commands.  Team that breaks or drops ribbon is eliminated.

 

Classes 17 – 19 – Rescue Race – (teams of 2) – Riders under 7 will be the captives.  Their partner will lead their mount to them, untie them, help captive mount and lead mount back over finish line.

For riders/teams over 7 - captive will be tied at end of arena.  Rescuer will ride down, dismount, untie captive, give captive leg up and lead mount back over finish line. 

 

Classes 20-22 – Postman – Riders under 7 may be on lead-line.  Rider will ride to mail pick-up. Obtain a piece of mail.  Ride to Mail box and place mail in box.

 

Classes 23 & 24 – Flag Fliers – teams of 2.  Timed class.  First rider carrying flag, places the flag in the bucket at the changeover end, rides back to center bucket, collects a flag and returns to hand it over the Rider 2.  Riders two completes the course in the same way.

 

Classes 25 & 26 – Two Flag – teams of 2.  Timed class.  First rider carrying a flag, rides to the first cone, places the flag in it, rides to the second cone, collects the flag and passes it to Rider 2.  Rider 2 rides to the second cone, placec the flag, rides back to the first cone, collect the flag and rides back over finish line.

 

Classes 27 & 28 – Ball & cone – teams of 2.  Timed class.  Rider 1 rides to the cnter line cone, places the tennis ball on the top of it, rides to the changeover end, collects the ball from the cone and rides back to handover to Rider 2.  Rider 2 places the ball on the cone at the changeover end and collects the ball from the cone on the center line and then rides over the finish line.

 

Classes 29 & 30 – Fox & hound -  teams of 2.  Timed class.  Barrel pattern with Fox leading the team, hound following.  Disqualification if second horse passes before the front of cinch before the first horse finishes the course.

 

Class 31 – Mug Shuffle – teams of 2.  Timed class.  Rider 1 rides to pole 1 and moves the cup to pole 2.  Then moves the cup from pole 3 to pole 4 before crossing the changeover line.  Rider 2 moves the cup from pole 4 to pole 3 and the cup from pole 2 to pole 1 before crossing the Start/Finish line.

 

Class 32 – Ride & Lead – team of 2.  Timed class.  Rider 1 weaves through the bending poles to reach Rider 2.  Rider 1 dismounts, Rider 2 mounts and Rider 1 leads Rider 2 weaving back through the poles and over the start/finish line.

 

Classes 33 & 34 – Pole Bending w/circling - trot – timed class.  From start line trot to last barrel, completely circle last barrel, weave to next barrel and completely circle, (weave and completely circle each barrel) down to first barrel, weave barrels back to last barrel and then trot to finish line.

 

Classes 35 & 36 – Keyhole race -  timed class.  Rider rides into keyhold, truns horse 180 degrees, and rides back to start/finish line.

 

Classes 37 & 38 – Bareback dollar – Riders will be given one dollar placed under their seat.  Ringmaster will call out moves.

 

Classes 39 – 41 – Bribe your horse -  timed class.  Rider uses carrot (provided) to bribe their horse/pony to follow them in a figure 8 pattern and back across the start/finish line.  15 second penalty if horse/pony passes rider.  Horse/pony and rider must cross start/finish line.
